Once again, click to enlarge, and let me know if you want the highest resolution version of these (like if you're planning to print them out). Shown here is 50% of the original.
The quilt is from Great Granny (much ooh-ing and ahh-ing is required), and the ball is from Granny Boo (again, ooh and ahh).
Ahhh, how cute. but seriously, I want to know about the diapers! what'd you make the first one out of? I see some kind of print on the side of it. and is the second one hand knitted by "she-who-quilts" (aka your mom) And when is someone gonna make an announcement on the mt. blog about P and N????HUH??????
and l.b., not sure when an announcement :) I think they'd like the whole event to kind of slide on by. Classic Pat, and as it turns out, classic Nora. Look for some sort of reception/picnic/gathering of relatives in August, unless the initial plans (actually brainstormings) go a different direction. and they might. nice ring though. perhaps that will be the focus :)
turns out I should have nixed the flash sooner, the last pic has perfect lighting. maybe I'll try again tomorrow.
blog announcement will come as soon as I steal the ring pic from nora's myspace. hope she doesn't mind...
the diaper is a curity prefold (100% cotton rectangle, thicker in the middle than on either side). Coincidentally the same brand my mom used when we were babies. I got a dozen of them for about $1.50 apiece on ebay. The soaker is wool(probably from a recycled sweater and yeah, mom knitted it) and it goes over the diaper instead of plastic or nylon.
Simone already converted me YEARS ago, but I have no one to experiment on (and limited, theoretical know how), so I just keep making quilts in the meantime. When my time DOES come I'm gonna need some serious help. Mom is all grossed out by the idea, she won't even let Amy and I talk about it around her. Of Course, Amy and I deal with crap everyday in the way that other people deal with paperwork on the job, so that helps. Crap is life. life is crap? ;)
