The nice thing about little tiny embroidery things is that you can pick them up and put them down easily. Comes in handy when your son discovered his birthday present (dived, of course) a few months early and insists on using it every.single.day. At least he cleans up after himself (sort of!)...

UFO sighting #2
terrible picture (turns out standing on the loveseat and balancing a tripod while shooing the cat and laughing at the resident belly contortionist does not result in a clear shot, no matter how many times you try), but here it is:
Next step: little hand embroidered somethings in each of the linen center squares. After that: square each square, piece them together, decide whether or not to add a border, baste together with batting and backing, hand quilt, and bind. All before July 12. Ahem.

Please note the bare feet and short sleeves 8-)

Also not the presence of a motorcycle wheel. This is either an old picture or the bike still sits in the car port... hmm.....
too cute!
lb
how big will the quilt be?
what are you using for paint? Is EP cleaning up the pot with the dishcloth?
I can just imagine you trying to take that picture lol :) It looks great. Where did you find the easel? I've been looking for one for 2 years here, with no luck :( I tried to order one, even, but they won't ship here. boo. ciao!
easel: dumpster. score!
picture: ~2 weeks old. bike is in neighbor's driveway now. wondered if anyone would notice.
paint: thinned fingerpaint from crayola. next I'm going to try the cornstarch/water/food coloring/dishsoap concoction I recently spotted. And yes, he's attempting to wipe up all the drips. very tidy boy, when he's not being very messy.
yep. that is so your boy. be creative then be clean :-)
and um, speaking of the belly.......
quilt is currently 40"x50", but I haven't pieced the blocks together yet (so smaller after I do that). batting that's coming in the mail is 45x60. Aiming for something that will look good on a toddler bed.
quilt: will there be a border? you could use the backing fabric?
motorcycle: I actually wondered if those shots were the same day as the "new" car shots, based on the clothing.
boo
they are from the same day (good eye).
border: was hoping for advice. backing fabric would look ok, even though it's so light? and then bind with what, all the longest pieces of dark blue?
Hi Guys! Sorry so long time no comment. The quilt is nice, looks like lotsa work to me. Great pic of the budding artist! Speaking of budding - E must really be budding by now! Love and miss you all lots. But guess what - we now have all 4 passports! Woo-hoo!
