20.5 months? really?

You know what they say, time flies when you're having fun, tee hee.

Some of the things I've been noticing and loving lately about this stage of lp's life:

-The way he lines things up, and crashes them down, and enjoys the container just as much as they toys it contain(ed).
-When he picks out exactly which book(s) he wants to read, and reads them, with or without adult company. (not my favorite: when he gets SO frustrated that he can't fit all the books in his hands at one time, but does NOT want help).
-that he takes himself to the potty, as long as he's not wearing much more than a shirt.
-he loves putting toys away just as much as getting them out.
-helping mom cook and wash dishes is a fun new activity.
-he speaks! words! lots of them! signs for "more please" "bite please" "all done" "down" (sit or get), calls the kitty (psss psss), yells at the dog ("go" or "sit"), says: "bye, dad" "see ya", "no", "yeS" "yeah" "book" "all done". Converses as if I understand him, and knows when I'm not paying attention.
-cuddling is a big part of our day, even though fitting on my lap is getting more difficult! lp cuddles stuffed animals, real animals, Chuck the baby, and his dad with (reckless) abandon.
He also:
-recognizes and can point many facial features
-follows MANY directions and understands routines.
-takes his own socks, jacket, and hat off and understands how to put on/take off shirt, undies, pants, and shoes, but can't quite do them on his own.
-washes his own hands, tray, and teeth.
-recognizes people/things in pictures/books.
-drinks from a cup w/o spilling
-can climb up and down some steps without holding onto anything
-makes the "kiss" sound and blows kisses (but only to the italian waitress at our favorite restaurant).
-can navigate a playground independently, except the ladders (solicits help with those). Loves the swing.

a few pics from this morning:

PS: Thanks mom, the lounge suit fits perfectly!

ahhhhhhh! ;)
We went out and bought a big rug for the living room that I call "boy proof" (ie, dark, could handle stains really well) for just incase you all come to live with us for as long as we both can stand it or six months, whichever comes first. we've also decided that since we can't afford dining room furniture at the moment, we'll kick zina out (it's her room for the present time) and make it the play room that's actually heated (the basement is a whole nuther story...). I know, pictures, pictures. when I get back on line. at this rate that will be about june or july....

I am so glad that we have the computer and we don't have to miss these important milestones in EP's life. Love you and miss you all!

FEMA is getting sued by former trailer residents b/c they weren't warned about how to deal with the formaldehyde left in the trailers and ended up with major health issues. I only noticed the headaches, but am SO glad I got out of at least the tow-behind after only a few months...

btw, you can add "heeeyyyy! doooon't!" to the list of phrases the boy says. You have to imagine how truly offended he sounds while saying it to his dad, who has just smashed him in the face with a stuffed animal, or pillow, or book, or whatever. Had to keep smashing to make sure we were hearing what we thought we were hearing, doncha know.

*roflol* Yeah, you have to keep knocking him to make sure you are hearing right. :)

so, do these same suing people also realize ANY new house (except one that is "green"-and trust me, they're expensive, we looked into building one and it was too pricey!) and ANY trailer and ANY new car-that "NEW" smell is actually formaldehyde??
I had to work with it for five months in gross lab and it was awful b/c it is an appetite stimulant and we always worked on the bodies right before lunch. meat. yum.
