Your tax dollars at work, er.. play.

Christmas came early for the Sigonella in-line hockey team. Our local MWR has seen fit to use of a large portion of their budget on new goalie equipment. As you may already know, that's me. woo hoo! Look at all this cool stuff:

Free points if anyone knows what any of these items are called. Points will get you some cool prize. Prizes will be selected by me and will more than likely have no monetary value whatsoever. The wife says bonus points awarded if you know how many of your tax dollars was spent on said/pictured equipment.

will I model it for you? Of course.

So I am huge now and goal tending should get a lot easier. Look for future posts about the Sigonella team pummeling Catania and other Italian and European teams in the near future (of course led by some stellar goal tending from yours truly.)

Patrick approves wholeheartedly. he would also like you to see how big the stinkin' bag is that they gave me to lug all this stuff around in.

That's all for now folks!

waffle blocker gets a point, though I haven't heard it called that in a while, chest protector also gets one.
EG pulls a point for sticks.

Okay ... it's hard to top MomW's fractured terminology, but here's my shotgun guess: face guard, neck protector (or guard), shoulder pads (or guards?), elbow pads (guards?), leg guards (pads, deflectors??), skates (or blades?). Is there a mouth guard in there? And, my guess is $2,295 for the lot, not including shipping, taxes, duties, or DENTAL INSURANCE!! How'd I do?

alright, momW gets no points, sorry. dadW gets points for neck/throat protector and leg pads, Mrs G picks up another for the bag.
Updated scores:
dadW - 2
B&E - 2
E.G. - 2
momW - 0

unfortunately I have to go to work tomorrow so I will tally final scores and award prizes monday.

no word from the outlaws, huh. I think there should be a consolation prize for most creative identification.

Ok, my last ditch effort here....

roller hockey pants ($50)
jersey ($30)
pro leg pads ($450)
chest and arm pads ($300)
blockers ($100)
goal mask ($190)
composite goal stick ($200)
4.8 goal stick ($30)

with a grand total of around $1,350... give or take.

You want the doctor's opinion?
Nut and Noggin protectors.
Priceless.

Esp. if you want to have more kids.

So, did I come close?
haha. I so amuse myself when I'm oncall and tired.

I very nearly spit my coffee at Lil B's answer...and I think I like hers best - she should get a prize for most concise response

*lol* Or the "say what everyone else is thinking" prize?? Good job, lilB. :o) *snicker*

I see three roller pucks and Dan where is the tape for the sticks and I would have to say can anybody say goalie!

he forgot to add tape to the order, and was kind of peeved about it afterwards, so it's funny (to me at least) that you noticed its' absence.
