prologue:
Most of you know that (in my mind) wrapping gifts is to be avoided. I will do most anything to have someone else do the "honors". For years Emily has known everything she was getting, having picked out the wrapping method and wrapping each gift herself. Junk food has even been offered as a bribe (hot chocolate, what in the world else would I be offering?). This year I thought that I might have Nora hooked, but that fell through, so I utilized my senior (year) citizens. Enter: Tim and YeonJun.
Overheard, Asian to American, on Christmas Eve 2006:
"But, Asians can't (w)rap!"*
epilogue:
It was the most calm Christmas ever. (Nate used the word "pathetic" but I can't imagine he meant it). Calm, even the 6 hours of cleaning house on Christmas morning. Oh, yes, fun was had by all.
*get it? This is why he got 11/12 on his SAT writing despite English being his second language - he not only speaks well, he makes jokes (knowledge of the american absurd) and makes puns. For those of you who don't know, YeonJun put up with us last year and is in the dorm this year. He visited us at Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. But he didn't wrap our gift to him. I know where to draw the line.

from that distance, the cabinetry almost looks like a plan. I kinda like the mix of colors.
you can't name your christmas pathetic attempt; that is what I'm naming my quilt.
I like YJ, he said he was cuter than my baby when he was young, and then took it right back and admitted the truth when he saw how upset it made EP.
I have seen cabinets in magazines that are different heights and different colors. I'm pretty sure they are all copycats of me.
Dad didn't say pathetic but it was something like that (still trying to remember). . .so you can have your title back. And, I just listened to a podcast about cheater quilts though she called it something else (whole cloth?). You gotta download the quilting podcasts.
And as for YJ, he did all the name tags; they look like they are computer printed with a tidy font. But I think the two first born sons might be a bit vain if their prettiness factor is quite that important :)
I always had to wrap everyone's gifts for years too growing up. is that the curse of the eldest daughter or what? the nice thing though was that occasionally I got to "liberate" a particularly cute gift that was intended for Amy as "payment" from mom-shhh, don't tell amy! ;)
YOu have GOT to see the house amy is putting a purchase offer in tonight on. Supposedly a better view than nate's land, I find that hard to imagine. I LOVVVEEEE The house! love it! If I ever get off my butt and finish cleaning up I'll try to "lift" it from the real estate site and post it to the family blog....
yes, post. I love looking at real estate :) !!
no mom, you love looking at cheap estate.
I'm thinking "looking" might be the key word :)
trust me, from where the real estate is where I live presently (read:crazy high!) this is a cheap piece of real estate!
