Is there hope for an only chick with a doting mother? Time will tell.
This last one is the chick hiding under Hubie. In case it looks like some sort of puzzle.This is a phoenix father (the little squirt) and an auracauna mother ("easter egg" chicken). I imported a gorgeous (and quite full of himself) rooster
a week and a half ago, thinking I'd never get a chick from the phoenix. I think this egg gestated about 6 weeks (twice as long as it is supposed to take).
